I said I would "hopefully" post pictures of Billy's visit from early July.
We're just so busy with harvesting the garden and cooking and putting up the produce that there is little time for the Internet right now.
Suffice it to say, we crammed in fun galore for just one short week. While still limping from our seven months of unemployment, we showed Billy how to have fun on the economy Picnic Plan. One of Bill's customers gave us a condo at the beach to use, and our neighbor Jo unloaded on our driveway a mountain of beach umbrellas and chairs and boogie boards. So we baked cookies, made chicken salad sandwiches, turkey and ham wraps and hit the road!
To our surprise, Billy had never boogie-boarded (aka body-boarding) despite his extensive travel. We were happy to introduce "Boogie Billy" to his new found calling in life. He was awesome -- and, dare I say, fabulous -- as he overcame his British Reserve to indulge his boogie fever.
My only disappointment with the visit was that the sole alligator we saw in the wild was 100ft away. The last time we went to the swamp I had to pin Webb's arms down by practically sitting on him to keep him from reaching over the sides of the boat to pet the alligators. The kids had an awesome time surrounded by them while I was relieved when it was all over. Gators were everywhere! Except for that one at a distance, all we saw with Billy were the tell-tale bubbles coming up from under the boat. That in itself can be unnerving, not knowing when one might suddenly appear. Despite my disappointment, Billy was okay with his first encounter being at a safe distance. Next time, Boog, next time. Oh how The Posse loves introducing the "tea drinker" to danger.
